Question
Is it possible to co-exist both DHI License Manager, e.g 2025 and 2026 on the same server?

Answer
Yes, It is possible. MIKE Software in version 2026 will only use the new Entitlement Management platform and the license will not be backwards compatible. Customers who are not ready to transition immediately can continue using the old DHI License Manager with MIKE 2025. If you wish to access the latest MIKE 2026 release, you must transition to the new platform.

This only concerns the network license customers and the installation of both DHI License Manager requires ‘admin access’ from your company IT.

In case of any warning or error, please follow below instruction:

  • Uninstall all version of MIKE Software

  • Delete the C:\Program Files (x86)\DHI, C:\ProgramData\DHI, C:\Users\{name}\AppData\Local\DHI{x}, and C:\Users\{name}\AppData\Roaming\DHI{x} folders.

  • Delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DHI and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\DHI Windows registry keys and all sub-keys.

  • Restart the PC

  • Install MIKE Software 2025 and activate license

  • Install MIKE Software 2026 and activate license

Conclusion
Co-existing two versions can be a practical solution when compatibility, testing needs, or support are required. While running multiple installations may introduce additional maintenance and resource considerations, it ultimately provides flexibility and ensures that essential workflows are not disrupted during transitions or upgrades.
